Easiest Low Carb Chili Ever!
Ingredients:
|
1 pound of ground chuck 1/4 cup of chopped onion
2 or 3 tsp of garlic powder
2 or 3 tsp of chili powder
1 or 2 tsp of ground cumin
1 - 10 ounce can of diced
tomatoes with green chilis
salt, pepper and tabasco to taste
|
Add the ground beef and the chopped onions to a large pot. Brown the beef
over medium heat while adding the garlic powder, salt, pepper, chili powder, ground cumin and a couple dashes
of the optional tabasco. I also added a couple shakes of crushed red pepper for more heat and flavor.
Break the ground beef up while it's browning, but try to keep it in nice bite
sized chunks.
After the beef is browned, add the diced tomatoes and turn down to low. Allow the
chile to simmer covered for 15 to 30 minutes and stir it a couple times during that period. The longer and slower
you cook it, the tastier it gets - but it suits me fine after cooking about 20 minutes.
This chile has a few carbs in the onions, a very few in the garlic,
cumin and chili powders, and only about 4 net grams of carbs in the diced tomatoes. So share it with someone,
or do like me and hog it all :)
If you like, you can eat it topped with sour cream, shredded cheese or
chopped onions.
